| A Level III certified dressage coach, Leslie Reid has won over 40 Provincial Zone Awards, and was named Coach of the year in 1989. In 1995, with the Dutch Warmblood stallion Seafox, she was the first Canadian rider to be named to the 1996 Olympic Dressage Team, qualifying after the first two Olympic Trials. In November 1996, Reid and Seafox were triumphant at the Volvo World Cup Dressage League Final held at the Royal Winter Fair. Over the past two years, Reid and Mark, a ten year old Holsteiner gelding, have accumulated a tremendous number of victories, which was highlighted in particular by an Individual gold and Team silver medals at the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic. Moving up to Grand Prix in 2004, they were the only horse/rider combination to earn an automatic bye onto the 2004 Olympic Dressage Team after achieving an average of 70.089% in the Grand Prix test at two CDI*** competitions. Their performance in Athens, Greece helped Canada move up one placing in the world international team rankings to ninth place. In recent months, the pair has continued to be a dominant force in North American dressage with a decisive double win in the Grand Prix Qualifier and Grand Prix Freestyle at the 2004 Dressage at Devon CDI***/CDI-Y. Reid is currently Canada’s highest ranked international dressage rider |
